The Return Of The ABU Show - January 2013

The monthly ABU show went out live on Disco Scratch Radio last night and the chat was in full, FULL E.F.X.

I included a mix I did for the Heroes Of UK Hip Hop mix swap from 2011 ('Repo's A-Z Of Hip Hop') as well as some classic (BDP, Ultra, Eric B...) Golden Age, Electro and funk.
The show is available below.

I will do another post with the mix separately.

Enjoy,
REEP-A-SAURUS

  2. Ambassador, with these ABU! podcasts you are really spoiling us. Very pleasant to hear Rough Cut (incidentally the heaviest record I ever owned) and Jenifa Taught Me was a nice blast from the past, really should pick up that CD one of these days, and the A-Z of Hip Hop was triple def. However that Traveling At The Speed Of Thought remix still does nothing for me I fear.

Oh and hey, w'happen to the Roots of the Roots? Hmmm?

  3. Always happy to hear your monthly feedback, Ramses!
Rough Cut? Heavy? As in weighty? Hmmm, I have the 'blue' label version and sadly seems no more thicker than yer average 12".

Interesting to read your thoughts on the Ultra remix. I actually like it a lot better than the original - regardless of the small inclusion of the (dated) 'woo, yeah' Lyn Collins break. Dose drums...mmmm!

Apologies for the Roots absence this time. That mix threw a few things off the show with it being an hour long and that.

    Nice one, Ramses!

Hey, this is REPO! While I love to see your comments, if you leave one under ANON why not put your real or chosen name at the end of the message?

Peace.
