I was saddened to hear this week that a fellow Blogger may be ending his site due to outside forces - primarily to the muthaf@%$ing DMCA blog police.
I'm talking about SCENES who currently runs The Underground Strikes Back.
Sadly, it looks like it will be no more by the end of the month and there is a great selection of stuff available for download. However you've got to get there quick or else it goes with the site.
While you're there, please take a few moments to leave a comment and give thanks as Phil has been providing quality content for over 4 years now.
I've certainly bagged a few goodies over time and caught some rare vids and mags so for that I say a massive thanks to Scenes.
Also, it was this very same guy who way back in the early 90's designed a couple of front covers for my hip hop mag, Juice. Top man.

i might be cruhed but i will still be around casting an eye over you other uk hip hop kids
It's a hard one this.
Gut reaction is to say that it's not justified, but at the end of the day, sharing copyrighted material is illegal and we all know it. Whether it's a current pop tune or an obscure piece of wax makes no difference... you live by the sword, you die by the sword.
It's no shock that blogs can be shut down for doing this and so if you are prepared to take the risk to do it yourself then you have to be prepared to pay the consequences I guess.
Losing your personal shit is not an option and I'm pleased that P is not allowing this to get out of hand, it just aint worth it. But surely can't the particular offending items be removed and allow the blog to continue as it is? I'm not sure how these things work.
TUSB was / is a quality blog, and Scenes is a true rep of the old skool, which I don't doubt will ever change... but at the end of the day there's bigger things in life to get upset about... and I mean that from the blog-reader's point-of-view.
